  11. newsgroups are for discussions of books written by Tom Clancy,

  110.       some questions and will sometimes post to clarify some points in
  111.       the various discussions.  His participation is at his discretion
  112.       and limited by his various other activities.  His postings have
  113.       been informative, interesting, polite and fun.  The readers of
  114.       these newsgroups value and enjoy his participation and appreciate
  115.       whatever time he gives.

  120.    Other than the usual netiquette there are a few additional things
  121.    deemed worthwhile to encourage and enhance participation in these
  122.    newsgroups.

  124.    The main one is the notification of story spoilers in a posting.
  125.    These are newsgroups dedicated to discussions of Tom Clancy and his
  126.    stories.  Please be considerate of your fellow readers who may not
  127.    have read the latest Clancy story or seen the latest Clancy movie. If
  128.    you are going to include information that may spoil the book or movie
  129.    for other readers of this group, please have the courtesy to place
  130.    the title and the word "SPOILER" before any such information;
  131.    preferably in the Subject line.  Since the paperback version may take
  132.    up to a year to be published, it is appropriate to continue to add a
  133.    spoiler warning for that length of time after a hardcover book comes
  134.    out.

  136.    If you want to ask Mr. Clancy a question, post it on the appropriate
  137.    newsgroup; *don't* email him.  Flooding his mail with questions is
  138.    discourteous and counter productive.  Besides, another reader will
  139.    very likely be able to answer your question faster than Mr. Clancy.
